THE DIFFERENT COMPONENTS OF A PAIR OF GLASSES

There are various elements that make up a pair of glasses, and different materials can be used. If you want to know what the different components are and how frames can be customized to achieve a perfect size and fit, keep reading!

THE FRAME

The frame of a pair of glasses holds the lenses in place and secures them to your face. The frame can be divided into different components:

Frame: this is the front part of the frame, surrounding each lens and holding them in place.

Bridge: named after its location on your face (the bridge of your nose), it connects the lenses to each other.

Temples: they come in different lengths and thicknesses for style and comfort. They have an angled end so they can be adjusted to fit perfectly around your head.

MATERIALS

There are several types of materials used to create a pair of glasses, each with its own advantages. The most commonly used materials for making glasses are:

Titanium: known to be hypoallergenic and biocompatible, titanium allows for the creation of lightweight and durable frames.

Stainless Steel: more affordable if you're looking for metal frames, and they are still lightweight. However, some people are allergic to metals (such as nickel) used to make stainless steel, so they are not hypoallergenic.

Acetate: one of the most used materials in frame creation due to its ability to be customized. It is also hypoallergenic, so anyone can wear it without fear of allergies.
