The men's faceguide: how to choose your glasses.
Our opticians love to help you choose the pair that suits you best, based on your face shape, style and correction.
Find our guides to help you find the glasses that suit you best:
Glasses adapted to your face shape.
Generally speaking, choosing glasses to match your face shape can help to soften or strengthen your natural lines.
To soften your features, we advise you to choose glasses with a shape opposite to that of your face.
Square or rectangular glasses will soften a round face, while round or oval glasses will soften a face with more angular features.
You may also prefer to reinforce the lines of your face by choosing glasses that are close to the shape of your face.
Find your face shape.
You can stand in front of a mirror and compare the width of your forehead, cheekbones and jaw: a square face will tend to have a similar width of forehead, cheekbones and jaw, while a round face will have cheekbones that are wider than the forehead or jaw.
Square face.
If you have a square face, opt for oval shapes and soft lines to soften your features.
70s-style, metallic frames: try slim frames and rounded shapes.
Finally, make sure your Jimmy frames are slightly narrower than your face if you have a square face shape.

Round face.
Our advice for you: a slim frame with pronounced angles. These models will break up the roundness of your features by elongating and refining your face.
Your beautiful eyes will look even bigger in a pair like the Bari, the Hometown or the Aldo.

Check when you try them on.
We advise you to observe these rules when you try on your glasses:
- Your eyebrows should not be visible inside the lenses, nor should they be completely hidden by the top of the frame.
- Your cheekbones should not be touching your glasses when you smile.
- When you look in the mirror, your frame should fall between the outer corner of your eyes and the tip of your temple.
- Your eyelashes should not be in contact with the lenses.
- Finally, ideally, your eye should be well centred in the lens - otherwise, cla can give the illusion that you're squinting!
What material should you choose for your eyewear frames?
At Jimmy Fairly, we attach great importance to detail, finish and the responsible materials we choose.
We choose our acetates according to their aesthetic and environmental characteristics, our steels are stainless and we are developing more and more models in titanium, a noble material from Japan.
There are no rules here, the real difference will be in your style. Metal pairs will be more discreet, while acetate will allow you to assert a classic style (for brown colours), or on the contrary more assertive with bright colours (yellow, red, green, etc.).
Choose your lenses.
Correcting your myopia, astigmatism or presbyopia, single vision or multifocal lenses, anti-blue light, polarised or photochromic coatings, refinement options...
We've designed our range of lenses to be as simple and attractive as possible, but we'll show you the treatments best suited to your needs.
