Prescription and reimbursment.

We help you understand your prescription, your (French) reimbursment rights and much more. Clear and simple.

Your rights.

To be covered by your Social Security and Health Insurance, you must meet the following conditions:

- Your prescription is recent enough - from 1 to 5 years old depending on your age. (Whether it has already been used for equipment does not count.)

- Your last optical coverage was 2 full years ago, or 1 year if your vision has changed by 0.5 points in total - and you have not changed your mutual insurance.

- Your equipment is a pair of non-tinted prescription glasses.

Each Insurance offers different coverage, so check your optical guarantee table on your online account or contact them directly by phone.

The prescription.

You must have a prescription dissued by an ophthalmologist to obtain prescription glasses from your optician.

How long the prescription is valid depends on your age.

- 1 YEAR    for under -16 year-olds.

- 5 YEARS  for 16 year-olds to 42 year-olds.

- 3 YEARS  for the over +42 year-olds.

During this period of validity:

- The same prescription can be used multiple times to renew your glasses (the important thing is to respect the time intervals between two renewals).

- If your vision has changed, an optician can perform an eye test and adjust the correction on your prescription (unless otherwise specified on the prescription). You can then renew your equipment after one year with the new prescription.

Check your vision.

Our opticians are equipped with machines to test your vision. It is recommended to have your vision checked every year to ensure your optical equipment is adjusted to your needs.

In case of a 0.5 point total change in your vision, our opticians will update your prescription accordingly.

You will then be able to proceed with the early renewal of your equipment, 1 year after your last coverage, under the usual conditions of your mutual insurance.
